A Lil’ Bit o’ Train Romance

A Lil' Bit o' Train Romance

Imagine finding love at the end of a train journey. It happened back when steam trains belted across the newly opened Canadian wilderness. It still happens today. These are modern love stories of people who meet on the train, at a destination, or even on the train station platform.

In A Lil’ Bit o’ Train Romance, train robbers steal more than money, and a station mistress finds herself taking an unplanned ride, while a model train man finds an admirer. Santa Claus becomes the Christmas miracle, the gunslinger isn’t who he makes out to be, and a runaway finds a friend who becomes much more. A couple bond over popcorn for a second chance at love, and children appear in several of the short stories.

The Alberta Prairie Railway abounds with history that lends itself to the telling of these fictional stories by an author who still favors a ride on the vintage trains.

In this supernatural fantasy, discover how three genies got themselves banished to a cold and forbidding lake, creating a series of mysterious events that become legendary to the mortals living there. I love everything Raine Hughes writes. Though I’m not a fan of fantasy, the promise of a sweet romance got me started on reading the genie romance series. They’re funny and warm, just my kind of read. With this final of the Mystery Lake romance novel series, I think Hughes has wrapped things up nicely. Can’t wait to see what she comes up with next though she’s hinted – but I’m not allowed to tell yet! – Nandi Pearce-Wright, Educator and Fan

I’ve enjoyed the entire Djinni series, so far. Moments of fun and laughter, to the serious side of life, made the story a true page turner. Raine Hughes is adept in
weaving past story figures into the book for added tie in for readers. Definitely a magical read. — S.L. Dickson, author of – Kirk’s Promise

Djinni Princess Jasmine’s supernatural powers seem to be flawed except for her ability with candles. She’s in danger of losing her royal title unless she can successfully serve a mortal. Noah D’Ark investigates a rooftop snow slide and discovers a frozen body under the snow. He’s successful in reviving her, only to have the strangely dressed woman declare that she is his Djinni. The idea of enslaving anyone repulses him, he’s decidedly uneasy with magic and auras, and the attraction he feels towards the beautiful supernatural being is positively terrifying. But, she’s a Djinni without a home so he offers his until they can find her missing urn. Their time together is fraught with haphazard magic and undeniable attraction. She could lose her royal title in giving her heart to him, unless he can succeed in a bizarre wish-reversal challenge to win her right to stay.
